About the Role

Unitrans is seeking experienced and professional Bus Driver Conductors to join our team in Kuruman. As a Driver Conductor, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers on scheduled routes, ensuring their comfort and timely arrival.

Your role will also involve issuing tickets, collecting fares, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

This position requires a Public Services Driving License (PG) and a strong commitment to defensive and preventive driving techniques. If you have a passion for safety, excellent driving skills, and a dedication to providing exceptional service, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate buses to transport passengers on scheduled routes.
• Issue tickets and collect fares from passengers.
• Ensure passengers arrive at their destinations on time.
• Control lighting, heating, and ventilation for passenger comfort.
• Adhere to traffic laws, speed limits, and company policies.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections and report any vehicle defects or malfunctions.

• Maintain accurate logbooks and records of trips, incidents, and fuel usage.
• Participate in safety training and DSS (Driver Safety Standards) sessions.
• Ensure the bus is clean, fueled, and in good working condition at all times.
• Report incidents, accidents, or near misses to management immediately.
• Follow customer-specific SMS policies and procedures.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor with passengers and colleagues.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Licenses:
  • Valid Public Services Driving License (PG).
  • PrDP (Professional Driving Permit).

• Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Bus Driver or in a similar role.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a high level of professionalism.
