ABOUT THE ROLE

Econo Foods is looking for an experienced Code 14 Delivery Driver to safely transport and deliver goods to customers accurately and on time.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the assigned truck, conducting pre-trip inspections, maintaining accurate delivery records, complying with road and company regulations, and providing professional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operate the assigned delivery truck and complete scheduled deliveries.
• Conduct pre-trip and vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Deliver goods accurately and on time.
• Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, delivery receipts and incidents.
• Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse personnel and other stakeholders.
• Report mechanical faults and vehicle maintenance requirements promptly.
• Keep the truck clean, organised and properly equipped.
• Ensure delivery documentation and required equipment are available.
• Comply with traffic laws, company policies and safety procedures.
• Use the required PPE and follow workplace safety standards.
• Attend driver meetings, coaching and training sessions.
• Support the wider delivery team in achieving operational targets.
• Maintain a professional standard of customer service at all times.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience

• Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent qualification.
• 3–5 years’ proven driving experience.
• FMCG retail delivery experience will be an advantage.
• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
