About the Role

BUCO Oudtshoorn, part of The Building Company, is seeking experienced and reliable code 10 drivers to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to provide a safe, efficient, and professional delivery service to our valued clients while maintaining the integrity of the goods being transported.

Key Responsibilities

1. Goods Delivery:
   • Ensure the prompt, safe, and efficient delivery of goods to clients.
   • Verify delivery notes and ensure accurate quantities of supplies are provided to customers.
2. Vehicle Operations and Maintenance:
   • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects.
   • Ensure the vehicle is neatly packed and maintained in good working condition.
   • Take proactive steps to reduce vehicle costs, including fuel efficiency and maintenance.
3. Loading and Supervision:
   • Supervise and assist with the loading and unloading of goods to prevent damages or shortages.
   • Securely pack the vehicle to avoid breakages during transit.
4. Customer Relations:
   • Deliver excellent customer service and uphold the company’s values and culture during all interactions.
   • Collect COD payments when required, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
5. Compliance and Reporting:
   • Authorize delivery notes and maintain proper documentation for each trip.
   • Follow safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Education:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Licensing and Certification:
  • Valid Code 10 driver’s licence for heavy vehicles (HV) or Code 8 for light vehicles (LV) with a weight range of 3,501 – 9,000 Kg.
• Experience:
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
