As a Code 14 Driver at SA Metal Group, you will be responsible for driving a variety of Code 14 vehicles, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of materials and equipment across the Gauteng area. This role is critical to the company’s operations, requiring a driver who is not only skilled but also committed to safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily tasks will include:

• Vehicle and Load Management: You will be responsible for both the vehicle and its load, ensuring everything is transported safely and securely.
• Vehicle Inspections: Perform daily inspections of the vehicle and report any faults to ensure it remains in top condition.
• Loading and Off-Loading: Handle the loading and off-loading of various materials and equipment.
• Compliance: Adhere to the Road Traffic Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and company policies.
• Safety: Ensure the safety of other road users and comply with all road regulations.
• Navigation: Efficiently navigate through the Gauteng area to ensure timely deliveries.

Qualifying Experience

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Education: A minimum of a Grade 12 certificate.
• License: A valid, unendorsed Code 14 license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Experience: At least 3 years of driving experience, particularly with vehicles that have manual gearboxes.
• Special Skills: Experience in operating a Mounted Grab Crane, skip, or RoRo is an advantage. You should also be skilled in reversing a draw-bar trailer.
