Job Overview
The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) is seeking a professional and customer-focused Donor Attendant/Driver to join its Donor Division in Ndabeni. The successful candidate will assist with the operation of mobile blood donor clinics by transporting staff and equipment, setting up clinic venues, supporting donors throughout the donation process, and delivering exceptional customer service.
This role is ideal for an experienced Code EC driver who is physically fit, enjoys working with people, and is committed to helping save lives through quality donor care.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport staff, donors, and clinic equipment to and from blood donation venues.
- Load, unload, and carry clinic equipment.
- Assemble and dismantle mobile blood donation clinics.
- Welcome and assist blood donors throughout the donation process.
- Prepare donors before donation and monitor them during the donation process.
- Assist with ending the donation procedure and managing donor aftercare.
- Respond appropriately to adverse donor reactions.
- Register donors and update donor information accurately.
- Ensure clinic equipment is handled safely and maintained in good condition.
- Deliver outstanding customer service while promoting a positive donor experience.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Valid Code EC (Code 14) driver’s licence with no endorsements.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
- Minimum 3 years’ driving experience.
- Computer literacy.
- Willingness to work variable shifts, weekends, and respond to call-outs.
- First Aid qualification will be an advantage.
