Your Role in Our Team
As the Training Specialist/Truck Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive driver training that aligns with Air Products South Africa and Global policies and standards. You’ll play a pivotal role in equipping drivers and operators with the skills and knowledge they need to adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driver Curriculum Delivery:
- Develop and deliver driver training using both classroom methods and practical sessions.
- Implement and manage eLearning platforms to support the driver curriculum.
- Training and Assessments:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate the competency of drivers and operators.
- Provide hands-on training for both new hires and experienced drivers.
- Record Management and Compliance:
- Maintain detailed training records in both electronic and paper formats.
- Update training plans regularly to reflect any curriculum changes or updates.
- Ensure all training activities comply with Technical Training Procedures.
- Support and Innovation:
- Collaborate with the Bulk Distribution Technical Training team to address training needs.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and maintain best practices in the training process.
- Standards Adherence:
- Ensure training delivery is consistent with Air Products SA’s policies, EHS standards, and technical guidelines.
The Perfect Fit – Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12/Matric certificate.
- A valid Code EC driver’s licence with a Dangerous Goods (PrDPd) endorsement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal training qualification, including assessor and moderator certifications.
- 5–8 years of experience as a Technical Trainer or Truck Driver Trainer.
- Specialized knowledge in cryogenic operations, CO2 handling, and packed gas cylinder filling (advantageous).
Experience and Skills:
- 3–5 years in the gas, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
- Strong computer literacy, particularly in MS Office (Excel and Outlook proficiency is essential).
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to deliver training with precision and clarity.
