Job Overview

FCF Distribution is seeking a professional and experienced Code 14 Driver to join their transport team. The primary role of the driver will be to deliver products safely and efficiently to Fair Cape customers while ensuring compliance with all road regulations, safety protocols, and company policies. The ideal candidate must be reliable, have a strong work ethic, and possess a customer-focused attitude.

As a key member of the logistics team, the driver will play a crucial role in maintaining the company’s delivery standards by ensuring goods are delivered on time, in excellent condition, and according to schedule. This role requires someone who is highly responsible, detail-oriented, and capable of handling demanding transport operations.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
• Valid Code 14 Driver’s License with a PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) (Dangerous Goods certification will be advantageous)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Code 14 Driver
• Proven track record of safe driving (no major accidents or traffic violations)
• Clear criminal record (background checks will be conducted)
• Own transport (advantageous but not mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

As a Code 14 Driver, your duties will include:

1. Product Delivery:

   • Deliver products to Fair Cape customers in a timely and professional manner.
   • Follow the assigned delivery routes to ensure efficient transportation.
   • Handle the loading and unloading of cargo when necessary.

2. Safety and Compliance:

   • Adhere strictly to the Road Traffic Act and ensure compliance with all driving regulations.
   • Observe defensive driving techniques to maintain a safe driving record.
   • Follow proper safe reversing procedures to prevent accidents and damage.
   • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or emergencies immediately to the relevant personnel.

1. Vehicle Maintenance:

   • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in excellent working condition.
   • Ensure that temperature-controlled and refrigerated trucks maintain the correct storage conditions.
   • Keep the assigned vehicle clean and well-maintained at all times.

2. Adaptability and Road Awareness:

   • Adjust driving according to weather, road, and traffic conditions.
   • Identify and report any hazards or risks encountered during deliveries.
   • Follow proper emergency and defect reporting procedures.
