City of Tshwane Opens Truck Driver Post to Boost Park Maintenance in Region 6

The City of Tshwane is opening up new employment opportunities for local residents, announcing a vacancy for a Truck Driver in Region 6, with a competitive salary package reaching up to R414,924 per annum.

This vital role falls under the Environmental Management team and will see the successful candidate tasked with operating heavy-duty municipal vehicles, including mechanical chippers and stump grinders, to maintain trees, public parks, road reserves and open spaces.

The move forms part of the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance green space management, improve environmental aesthetics, and maintain safe public infrastructure.

“This role is key in preserving and improving the green lungs of our city, especially in Region 6, which includes both urban and semi-rural areas,” said a City spokesperson. “We’re looking for someone who not only has driving experience but also cares about community service and environmental upkeep.”

Applicants must have Grade 10, a Code EC1 licence, PrDP, and be physically capable of handling the manual work involved. In line with public safety procedures, all shortlisted candidates must agree to a criminal record check conducted by the Tshwane Metro Police at their own cost.
