As a Diesel Mechanic, you’ll be the go-to person for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel and petrol machinery. This includes everything from trucks and light motor vehicles to pumps and generators. You’ll also be responsible for diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical overhauls where necessary.

Your daily duties will include:

  • Servicing vehicles and equipment using detailed checklists
  • Handling breakdowns and executing quality repairs on-site or in the workshop
  • Diagnosing faults in engines, starters, distributors, carburettors, and more
  • Overhauling or replacing worn engine parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks
  • Ensuring all company vehicles are roadworthy and compliant with regulations

  • Providing regular feedback and breakdown reports to management

✅ Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this role, you’ll need:

  • A Qualified Artisan Certificate or a 5-year recognised apprenticeship in diesel mechanics
  • A valid driver’s licence – EC is preferable
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work under pressure and independently
