Position: Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and reliable code 10 Truck Driver to join our team in Newcastle. The primary role is to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of glass products to and from our customers while maintaining the highest standards of quality service.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Delivery Duties:
    • Transport glass products to and from customers efficiently and safely.
    • Accurately complete daily trip sheets and required paperwork.
    • Load and offload glass in a safe manner, ensuring proper handling techniques.
  2. Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Conduct daily monitoring of the vehicle and report faults immediately.
    • Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle, both inside and outside.
    • Perform regular quality and safety checks as per company guidelines.
  3. Operational Compliance:
    • Follow all work instructions, operating procedures, and company policies.
    • Adhere to environmental, safety, and housekeeping standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all road regulations and company rules, including refraining from using a cellphone while driving.
  4. Customer Service:
    • Establish and maintain good relationships with customers and team members.
    • Assist with paperwork and maintain accurate records.
  5. General Duties:
    • Assist with additional tasks as requested by the Factory Services Manager.
    • Be prepared to work overtime, weekends, and rotate shifts as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education:
    • Matric / Grade 12 Certificate.
  • License:
    • Code 10 (or higher) driver’s license with a valid PrDP.
  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of driving experience (advantageous).
    • Experience in handling and moving dangerous goods.
    • Knowledge of glass handling techniques, quality control, and reading production orders.
