Job Overview

Unitrans is looking for experienced and professional Bus Drivers to join its Personnel Transport division in Rustenburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers safely along scheduled routes while delivering excellent customer service and complying with all road safety regulations and company procedures.

This role is ideal for drivers with extensive passenger transport experience, a strong safety record, and the required professional driving licences.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport passengers according to scheduled routes and timetables.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip, during-trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Record and report all vehicle defects, incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Complete logbooks, trip records, and required transport documentation accurately.
• Ensure passengers are registered before each trip.
• Keep the bus clean, fuelled, and roadworthy at all times.
• Follow defensive driving principles and comply with all traffic laws.
• Adhere to company safety procedures, customer transport policies, and HST regulations.
• Participate in driver safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training programmes.
• Report vehicle damage or operational issues immediately to management.
• Follow approved routes and only stop at authorised locations.
• Ensure vehicle security by following company parking and key control procedures.
• Wear seat belts and enforce passenger safety requirements.
• Perform duties professionally while providing excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or National Certificate.
• Valid professional driver’s licence with the appropriate passenger transport endorsements:
  • CE – G
  • CE – PG
  • C – G
• Valid Public Driving Permit (PrDP).
• Public Services Driving Licence (PG).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a bus or passenger transport driver.
• Strong knowledge of defensive driving techniques and road safety legislation.
