Job Overview
A reputable institution is seeking a Bus Driver to transport passengers safely and professionally. The role requires strict adherence to traffic laws, vehicle maintenance checks, and effective communication with passengers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive passenger vehicles (heavy/light buses) in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Maintain an accurate trip log (recording open/close kilometers per trip)
- Ensure on-time arrival and departure while adhering to timetables
- Follow all road safety regulations within depots, bus stations, and public roads
- Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and good customer service when interacting with passengers
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy before starting routes or trips
- Report non-roadworthy vehicles, mechanical defects, or equipment failures to the Operations Controller
- Ensure timely renewal of vehicle licenses and Certificates of Fitness (COF)
- Follow Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), SHEQ, and emergency procedures
- Attend safety and compliance meetings
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Minimum 3 years of active passenger driving experience on buses
- Valid EC1 (0,4) or EC Driver’s License
- Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
