Job Overview

A reputable institution is seeking a Bus Driver to transport passengers safely and professionally. The role requires strict adherence to traffic laws, vehicle maintenance checks, and effective communication with passengers and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive passenger vehicles (heavy/light buses) in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
  • Maintain an accurate trip log (recording open/close kilometers per trip)
  • Ensure on-time arrival and departure while adhering to timetables
  • Follow all road safety regulations within depots, bus stations, and public roads
  • Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and good customer service when interacting with passengers
  • Keep the vehicle clean and tidy before starting routes or trips
  • Report non-roadworthy vehicles, mechanical defects, or equipment failures to the Operations Controller
  • Ensure timely renewal of vehicle licenses and Certificates of Fitness (COF)
  • Follow Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), SHEQ, and emergency procedures
  • Attend safety and compliance meetings

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Minimum 3 years of active passenger driving experience on buses
  • Valid EC1 (0,4) or EC Driver’s License
  • Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)

  • Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act
