About the Role

SMD Technologies is looking for an experienced and professional Code 14 Driver to join its logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods while ensuring compliance with road safety regulations, company policies, and operational standards.

This position is ideal for a dependable driver with extensive heavy vehicle experience and a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation and Delivery

• Safely transport goods to designated destinations.
• Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and within scheduled timeframes.
• Comply with all road traffic regulations and company transport policies.
• Complete all required delivery and transport documentation accurately.

Vehicle Care and Compliance

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after trips.
• Report vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, incidents, and accidents promptly.
• Maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of assigned vehicles.
• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation and company safety procedures.

Operational Support

• Assist with loading and offloading goods when required.
• Support warehouse and logistics operations as needed.
• Work closely with logistics personnel to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience operating heavy-duty vehicles.
• Proven experience within the logistics, transport, or distribution industry.
• Good knowledge of local and long-distance transport routes.
